>> Wall Street's capped off a week of wild trading Friday with another volatile session. The Dow closed the day down nearly 80 points after rising and falling throughout the day. The S&P and NASDAQ also followed the same track. Reuters' Lewis Krauskopf.>> It was kind of a microcosm of the whole week.
You didn't see quite the huge swings that we've seen earlier in the week, but again, it was a volatile day.>> And there's no hiding the jittery mood.>> There are so many technical factors behind the rebound this week, including participants saying that the market was oversold, so due for a bounce.
But you still have a lot of the concerns that had been bothering investors are still there. You still have concerns about US China trade tensions, concern about instability in Washington, as exemplified by the government shutdown, and when Democrats coming into control, whether that means nothing's going to be able to get done in Washington.
>> When you zoom out from the daily action, it's still a grim month for stocks with all three major U.S. indexes down about 10% in December.
