The Democrats, who take control of the House of Representatives on Thursday, are touting their own plan to reopen the government. Pelosi, who attended a border security briefing at the White House on Wednesday Says the plan includes $1.3 billion for border fencing and $300 million for other security items.

Why would he not do that?>> The prospect of that package getting through the Republican led Senate remains uncertain. McConnell has said Senate Republicans will not approve any spending measure that Trump does not support.
