on Thursday renewed his threat to close the nation's southern border with Mexico this after the head of U. S. customs and border protection Kevin mac lean and told reporters in el Paso Texas Wednesday his agency without a quote breaking point I made a new wave of migrants trying to cross the border into the US on Monday and Tuesday C. P. started the day with over twelve thousand migrants in our custody , as of this morning that number was thirteen thousand four hundred , due to the over flow at detention facilities mac lean inside his agency is now for the first time in more than a decade directly releasing some migrants inside the U. S. into their assigned court dates without the usual ankle bracelets or other means of tracking the renewed concerns at the border come despite a host of highly controversial measures under trump including in some cases the separation of children from their families and the deployment of thousands of US troops to the Mexico border to back up border patrol agents trump on Thursday put the blame on Mexico and Central America Cindy have failed to stem the flow of migrants crossing illegally into the U. S. tweeting they're all talk and no action the blast from trump comes only a day after homeland security secretary cures to Nielsen in Honduras said the U. S. Guatemala El Salvador and Honduras had struck a deal agreeing to joint police operations in the region to tackle illegal immigration which she said was on track to reach record levels in March by the end of this month our projections show we are very likely to interject close to one hundred thousand migrants crossing in one month but how to handle the issue at home remains a topic of fiery debate between Democrats and Republicans in Washington in February trump declared a national emergency on the border after Congress refused to fund his signature wall sparking a thirty five day government shutdown in a bipartisan bill both the democratic held house and the GOP controlled Senate voted to reject trumps emergency but trump responded with his first veto as president so we don't take this vote here today lightly this week the house of representatives fell short of the votes needed to override trumps veto signaling a bitter court fight ahead as trump diverts billions of dollars man for the military to build sections of his wall along the border
