Hey damning and national security report from the British government reveals what it calls major cyber security defects in hallway products and effectively accuses the Chinese company of incompetence it also says it's found quote no discernible improvements on promises the company made to fix products as far back as two thousand twelve long before hallway became a buzz word for western governments concerned about Chinese espionage , the forty six page report was written in part by officials from Britain's G. C. H. Q. intelligence agency and claims hundreds of vulnerabilities it's unusually pointed criticism Britain has previously said they believe they could work with Wall way to overcome security risks even as allies like the United States and Australia push the company further away , it includes for example flaws in a product that provide the connection between mobile phones and the cell network another section alleges that an operating system used by Wall way is out of date and that despite plans to upgrade the company hasn't found a credible alternative some of these flaws were previously known others the British government says have never been publicly disclosed before it all adds up to quote serious and systematic defects in hallways software engineering and cyber security competence but the authors explicitly state that they do not believe the Chinese government was responsible for any of these holes Wally executive sit on the government panel the company says it takes the findings very seriously it's already pledged billions of dollars to address problems previously flagged by the U.
