dozens of people have been killed in the poll after a massive thunderstorm hit the country's south the storm swept through the region late on Sunday injuring around four hundred people one woman said her family we're lucky to survive when the storm knocks down they hope in our district the Indian border Savov off on all of my belongings inside what's left of the house even our vice grains and wheat one of my family members broke a leg and another break a hand despite being less than one hundred kilometers from the capital Kathmandu the bar region is remote meeting rescue and cleanup operations have taken a day the country's prime minister said helicopters were on stand by to assist rescue it authorities are warning that the delays in rescue I mean the death toll may increase as teams try to reach outlying areas the poll is now in the lead up to the monsoon season when thunderstorms are common if they really intense enough to cause such death and destruction
