vice president Joe Biden said he does not recall kissing a woman without her consent on Sunday the possible democratic presidential candidate released a statement saying quote in my many years on the campaign trail and in public life I have offered countless handshakes hugs expressions of affection support and comfort and not once never did I believe I acted inappropriately if it is suggested I did so I will listen respectfully but it was never my intention the allegation against biting came Friday by Democratic Party activist who said Biden made her feel uncomfortable when he kissed her at a campaign event in twenty fourteen by then went on to say I may not recall these moments the same way and I may be surprised at what I hear but we have arrived at an important time when women feel they can and should relate their experiences and men should pay attention and I will , Biden has not yet said whether he will run for president in twenty twenty but has been expected to throw his hat into the ring soon it would be Biden's third presidential run his long record in public office now viewed through the lens of the hash tag me too movement , freshly let me explain what the procedure will be key to that record is Biden's role chairing the nineteen ninety one Senate confirmation hearings for Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas was accused of harassing law professor Anita hill the all white all male panel question hill's credibility on camera in a sometimes adversarial manner reputation was attacked , I wish I could have done something I oppose Clarence Thomas nomination but in in March said he was sorry for the way he handled the confirmation hearing nearly thirty years ago it's unclear what voters will make the new allegation against Biden who holds the lead in many democratic primary public opinion polls if he clinches the nomination he will be running against a Republican accused by more than twenty women of touching and kissing them inappropriately we'll try to kiss me again and he bragged on tape about grabbing women's genitals because you are phony people coming up with phony allegations Donald Trump has denied the allegations which continue to emerge in February Alvin Johnson former trump campaign worker filed a lawsuit against the president accusing him of quote sexually predatory conduct claiming he kissed her on the lips without her consent
