Francis says it's time for the Catholic Church to acknowledge its history of male authoritarianism and abuse of women on Tuesday a fifty page apostolic exhortation was released addressing sexual abuse scandals and calls for women priests is what seemingly targeted at young people saying it was for the good of the Catholic Church to repair its reputation or risk becoming a museum but despite admitting significant failings by the clergy he added the church quite could not agree with everything some feminist groups propose a reference clearly aimed at the current Catholic ban on a female priest hit the pipe is facing criticism over the church's response to a decades long clerical sexual abuse crisis which is damaged it's religious standing around the globe and seen it paid billions in compensation the pontiff to stop the abuse a tragedy and also young people to support the church in this dark moment he's previously acknowledged that the church must win back many young people who see it as insignificant
