a Hollywood star studded red carpet event is coming to Cupertino home to tech giant apple where the iPhone maker is expected to launch an ambitious new entertainment and digital news service Monday and maybe even a credit card aside from an email invite that said it's show time apple hasn't given much detail but media reports say Jennifer Aniston Reese Witherspoon in J. J. Abrams could be at the show as apple launches a streaming television service that could eventually put pressure on rivals from Netflix to Amazon prime video Reuters Stephen Nellis will also be at the show this television service is going to be important for apple because it's trying to chart its path and opposed iPhone world the number of iPhones apple sold last year it was about the same as the year before after years and years of growing really well the company is looking for new lines of business and that largely means services revenue so that's revenue from things like I cloud or apple music or now TV shows apple's already spent two billion dollars in the Hollywood producing its own content and signing major stars such as Oprah Winfrey shares of apple have risen over ten percent since the event invite was sent out two weeks ago showcasing the buzz over the news service but skeptics say apple is a late entrant in an already crowded market so the question for apple is why should anybody do this through them and not through a whole bunch of other people the answer apple is hoping is that they're gonna be able to pull all this content into one convenient place on your iPhone in your apple devices so that if you own an apple device instead of juggling a ton of different apps to get your TV services in different places you're gonna want to do it all through this one central place of the apple TV app according to media reports apple's new service will also offer access to a variety of magazines and newspapers for about ten dollars a month but don't expect to get your New York times reports there the CEO of the bay , US newspaper by subscribers told Reuters on Thursday that relying on third party distribution can be dangerous for publishers to risk losing control over their own product
