rest in the city of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania after a jury unanimously found a white police officer who shot an unarmed black teenager not guilty of murder , east Pittsburgh police officer Michael Ross spelled fatally shot seventy year old Antoine roles as he was running away from a car , lawyers for Ross build argued the officer acted in self defense because he thought roles with carrying a weapon protesters believe rose's death was unjustified Pennsylvania democratic state representative summer Lee it's rare that a police officer is found guilty of the crime of murder but we fight because we understand that we have to make sure that this president is broken we have to continue to fight to make sure that police officers know that they can't commit crimes that they have to be held to the same standard as out any other citizen in this country the protest in Pittsburgh Friday follows unrest in other cities across America we mostly black young men have been shot or killed while in police presence fueling the debate over claims of racial bias over aggressive policing and the U. S. criminal justice system that favors cops , the family of rose publicly pleaded for peaceful response protesters disrupted traffic but there were no violent outbreaks the jury comprised of nine white jurors and three black jurors deliberated for less than four hours coming back with a not guilty verdict
