>> Imagine a race where contestants wear jet suits. People watch live with VR headsets and bets are made in crypto currency. It sounds like a sport from the future but the makers of this say, it could soon be a reality. Anyone can try these out or even buy one if you have over $400,000 going spare.
The suit looks quite intimidating at first sight and it feels very heavy as you put it on. But as you get going, it feels actually surprisingly peaceful. You control it with your right hand, and the idea is to try to go up which is a lot harder than it looks.
These suits can go as fast as 32 miles per hour, and reach heights of 12,000 feet, and could be the basis of new racing series in 2019. That's if Richard Browning has anything to do with it. He's the British inventor who is bringing these suits to the market.
>> Really the idea of bringing several pilots from all different corners of the planet. And have them start to race around that kind of air race circuit in three dimensions with 1,000 horsepower jet suits. It's gonna be outstanding and phenomenal, and we are doing this.>> Five engines are mounted on the pilot's arms and back.
They run on jet fuel or diesel. But the tech doesn't stop with the suits.>> Everything, as seemingly crazy sounding as live broadcast from VR heads up display, to how would you fancy crypto currency betting whilst you're live on-board with one of the pilots? I mean, the ideas and opportunities that are slotting into our journey are just kind of mind blowing.
