Among the fruits of their labor, the world's top selling prescription medicine, AbbVie's antibody injection Humira, Reuters Ben Hirschler.>> So in medicine, the big breakthrough has really been better ways to produce antibodies. Which are now a hugely important class of drugs to treating autoimmune diseases.
Like rheumatoid arthritis, and increasingly, cancer.>> We've also got the trio to thank for many environmentally friendly products.>> Enzymes are really important when it comes to making biofuels, but also things like detergents. And many of the detergents that we use now are much more environmentally friendly. And that's because of the improved enzymes that came out of this technology.
>> Arnold is only the fifth woman ever to win the chemistry Nobel. A day after Canada's Donna Strickland became the first female physics laureate.
