>> At least seven police officers were shot, one of them fatally in South Carolina on Wednesday, that's according to emergency services and police who said, the suspect was later arrested. Authorities had said, the incident began as an attempted delivery of a search warrant.>> Suspect inside the residence opened fire on the investigate.
Three of our deputies were shot. Suspect continue to fire on other officers who responded to the scene to render aid to the one of them. Eventually, with the use of the bullet resistant rescue vehicle, the wounded being evacuated and transported to area hospitals for treatment. Subject remained barricaded in the residence with children.
And standoff lasted for approximately two hours.>> Local TV station WBTW cited police saying the suspect surrendered to deputies after talking with a negotiator. He was taking to a hospital for treatment.>> Today, we lost a good friend of mine. An officer that I've known for 30 years.
