that's when it first came out I can't remember much about it the dawn of movie streaming sites like Netflix and Amazon was the beginning of the end of old brick and mortar video rental stores across much of the world once a common sight in so many towns both independent shops and the big chains of mostly disappeared , and one of the biggest chains blockbuster hangs on by a thread with this single store in bend Oregon your weather since the last blockbuster in the world , no I'm not is it really are you serious yeah that's awesome , at its peak in two thousand four blockbuster had more than nine thousand stores spread across fifteen countries and employs over fifty eight thousand people in United States own when the general manager started here that year this town have five of them now to tourist attraction it's just been amazing adventure and we had a gentleman who flew here that had worked at a blockbuster in Spain and he flew all the way here just to see us if the store ever does close and I'm sure you know everything will come to an end at some point %HESITATION I will be very sad I think it will be the loss of , something really special and I think a lot of people are more in the loss of blockbuster as much as I will , blockbuster went bankrupt in two thousand ten the style Jr has helped keep business going here coming in here is like being a kid again and like this the smell when you walk in here too it's like it's all movies like you reminisce , the store hopes that merchandise embodying it's past will help fund its success in the future
