a helicopter crashed onto the roof of a building in midtown Manhattan Monday officials said at least one person was killed media reports identified that person as the pilot dozens of emergency vehicles swarmed the busy area just a few blocks north of Times Square and the building was evacuated shortly after the crash , first and then I just , New York governor Andrew Cuomo who was at the scene soon after the accident occurred told reporters it appeared the helicopter attempted a forced emergency landing on the roof in rain and heavy fog %HESITATION there was a fire that happened when the LX helicopter hit the roof %HESITATION the fire department believes the fire is on under control if you're a a New Yorker you have %HESITATION a level of P. T. as the right from nine eleven and %HESITATION I remember that morning old %HESITATION too well so soon as you hear an aircraft hit a building %HESITATION I think my mind goes where every new Yorkers mind go , no medication at this point there is no there is no indication %HESITATION that that is the case the Federal Aviation Administration said the pilot was the only person on board in that at the time of the accident both new work and LaGuardia airports were at a ground stop due to poor visibility and thunderstorms
