the US house intelligence committee issued subpoenas Thursday against former White House adviser Michael Flynn and president Donald trump's former deputy campaign chairman Rick gates in a letter the petals democratic chairman Adam Schiff demanded that Flynn and gates who have both pleaded guilty to charges related to Mahler's investigation provide documents by June twenty sixth and to testify before the committee on July tenth ship freight said the pair were quote critical witnesses for special counsel molars investigation and so far have refused to cooperate fully with Congress that's simply unacceptable the move adds a new layer to a battle between the White House and congressional Democrats house Democrats are pursuing several investigations of the trump campaign the White House and trump's businesses but the White House has vowed to stone wall all of the congressional probes and is ignored official demands and requests for testimony president trump has vowed to fight all of the subpoenas from all of the house committees both Flynn and gates initially cooperated with federal prosecutors after pleading guilty to charges stemming from always probe Flynn appears to have recently changed his legal strategy firing his lawyers in hiring a new attorney who has been critical of Miller's investigation on Thursday trump who has the power to pardon his former national security adviser praised Flynn and his new lawyer on Twitter adding quote best wishes and good luck to them both
