the week long teachers strike in Los Angeles has ended , their union has approved a tentative deal with the district which means they'll head back into classrooms Wednesday I know that my co workers are really ready to go back to work more than thirty thousand daily teachers went on strike January fourteenth after two years of contract negotiations and over a year of working without one Tuesday's deal meets many of the union's demands to improve classrooms and it also gives teachers an immediate six percent pay raise LA mayor Eric Garcetti who mediated the talks called the deal historic it gets to lower class sizes it gets the proper support staff to community based schools to special ed adult ed expanded green space and the list goes on the LA school board is expected to formally approve the deal at the end of the month
