A senior administration official said on Thursday that Trump is considering former pizza company executive Herman Cain, who ran for President in 2012, to take one of the seats on the Fed's rate setting committee.

Cain initially led the polls in the Republican Primary.

The President has repeatedly attacked Fed Chair Jerome Powell for raising interest rates. Calling the decision to hike them ridiculous and accusing him of undercutting economic growth.
A decision on the Fed Board nomination, which would need Senate approval, is not final.
