]Singer Chris Brown has been arrested by French authorities on suspicion of rape. A Paris police source on Tuesday told Reuters Brown was detained along with two other men a day earlier. The arrest was first reported by Closer magazine which said a 24-year old woman claimed she'd been raped in Brown's hotel suite on January 15th.
Brown gained notoriety after a 2009 conviction for assaulting pop star Rihanna, his girlfriend at the time. He was sentenced to probation, which he completed in 2015. In 2013, he was charged with misdemeanor assault for punching a man outside a Washington D.C. hotel. He spent two and a half months in custody and was ordered into rehab.
Brown surrendered to the LAPD at his home in 2016 on charges of assault with a deadly weapon. Brown's lawyer said the allegation was fabricated. He was arrested in Florida last July on an outstanding battery charge and released on $2,000 bail. Brown's publicist at Sony Music had no immediate comment.
