>> A moment of mourning in southern Spain after rescuers found the body of a toddler who fell in to a deep narrow well nearly two weeks ago. The story has captivated the country. Miners have been drilling day and night to reach two year old Julen. He was 300 feet deep into the bore hole, which was itself just 10 inches wide.
But despite rescue efforts in the early hours on Saturday, it was pronounced too late to save him.>>
> 1: 25 am this morning Julen was found, unfortunately dead. He was found by the two miners on duty at that time, accompanied by a police officer of the mountain division.
>> The family was walking through a private estate in the village of Totalan, in Malaga, on January 13th, when the incident happened. There had been no signs of life since the toddler's fall, and it's feared the well had collapsed on top of the child as it was found blocked with soil.
It's not the first time the parents have lost a child. El Pais newspaper reports that in 2017 their three year old son died suddenly after suffering a cardiac arrest on a beach.
