His first court appearance on Thursday. A judge denied bond to the 21-year-old who faces multiple counts of premeditated first degree murder. He is accused of opening fire inside a SunTrust Bank in the small town of Sebring, Florida on Wednesday, killing five people.>> Zephen Allen Xaver knowingly and intentionally took the lives of five of our fellow community members.
Our sisters, our mothers, our daughters, and our coworkers.>> The Sebring police chief says all five victims were women. Four were bank employees, The fifth, a customer. Police say after the suspect opened fire he called 911 to say he had shot people inside the bank. When authorities arrived, he barricaded himself inside before surrendering.
>> We have no information as to this time as to what his true motive may have been. We believe that it is a random act.>> Though police have yet to elaborate on a motive, a woman who said she used to date Xaver told a local TV station that he was fascinated with death and guns.
>> Almost like he hated everyone for no reason. And then throughout the years he just started like having this fascination with like wanting to hurt people.>> Authorities say they will seek the highest possible penalty against Xaver.
