>> The nominees for the highest awards in the movie industry have been revealed, and it's a game changer for Netflix. The streaming service scored its first Oscar nomination for best picture with Roma. A film chronicling the life of a housekeeper and the family she works for in 1970s Mexico.
The movie leads the pack along with the British historical romp, The Favourite.>> I can tell, even if I can't see, and I heard the word fat.>> Each film received ten nominations, they'll compete for the top prize of Best Picture. With A Star is Born, Black Panther, Green Book, BlacKkKlansman, Vice, and rock musical, Bohemian Rhapsody.
>> Christian Bale, who portrays former Vice-President, Dick Cheney, in Vice, was nominated for Best Actor. As was Bradley Cooper for his performance in A Star is Born. Defying expectations, however, Cooper was snubbed in the Best Director category. Although Spike Lee received his first nomination for best director for BlacKkKlansman
>> Joan, we're not bad people.>> For best actress, Glenn Close was nominated for her role in The Wife, and Lady Gaga for her performance in A Star is Born. The Oscars will be handed out in Hollywood on February 24th.
