%HESITATION I miss hugging or kissing her %HESITATION driving Turdus soccer games I miss watching her play soccer Laurie all have sporting year old daughter Alyssa died a year ago when gunmen opened fire I'd Marjory Stoneman Douglas high school in parkland Florida murdering Alyssa and sixteen others now this parkland parent and others like her are on a mission so it became very clear to me that in order for change the happen that I need to be the one to step up to the plate all half ran and won a seat on the school board she also created the non profit maker school safe channeling her grief into activism I am in this position as elected official and I'm laser focus in school safety and I am going to work as hard as I can and I have been every day at the end of twenty eighteen all had as in other grieving parkland parents met with president trump at the White House to discuss a federal report on preventing school violence Max factor was there his fourteen year old son Alex also died in the parkland massacre at last Valentine's day I made %HESITATION nine different trips to Washington DC and %HESITATION I travel to schools all over the United States and and internationally as well Schachter started the safe schools for Alex foundation which aims to build a safety rating system grading schools on their security it's going to be based on real factually proven best practices do you have a good guy with the gun on campus give a code red policy if you do once last time you had a cold rage real do you have a hard corner policy and do you do you train do your kids know where to go in the margin see while many parkland students had need gun control their focus with their high profile March for our lives movements , these grieving parents are tackling the problem of violence in schools from another vantage points making school safety at their top priority while the deal with constant heart ache bull Schachter and all have say advocacy is a way to fight for their children our voice of our power and so you have a voice and just use it and it will be amazing and make a difference and make change on Wednesday a law named after all have stottor became official in the state of New Jersey requiring schools do have silent panic alarms to notify law enforcement in case of emergencies
