I say resistance is continuing until the occupation is removed. All female prisoners in jail are strong and I thank everyone who stood by me while I was in prison and who stood with all women prisoners.
Tamimi was 16 when she confronted an Israeli soldier in December last year. That incident went viral after being relayed live on Facebook by Tamimi's mother, turning the now 17-year-old into a hero among Palestinians. Many Israelis however saw it as a staged provocation. Palestinians want the West Bank for a future state along with East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip.
Most countries consider Israeli settlements in the West Bank to be illegal, something Israel disputes.
