>> The crown jewels of Sweden stolen by thieves in broad daylight, and then sped away from the crime scene in a speed boat. Not a spoof James Bond plot, but a reality on Tuesday when the royal artifacts were snatched from a cathedral an hour west from Stockholm. Police say the robbers broke into a glass case that held the funeral regalia of King Karl IX and his wife Queen, swiping two crowns and an orb from the 17th century.
The robbers then made their getaway on a motorboat waiting on a lake nearby. No arrests have yet been made, and no suspects have been identified, but police are now publicizing the theft to try to recover the valuables. Being such priceless items, they say they'll be very hard to sell in the open market.
