US president Donald Trump and north Korean leader Kim Jong hoon will meet again this time the pair will reunite on February twenty seventh in the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi the president announced the summit on Twitter Friday after what he said was a very productive meeting between the US delegation and North Korea this past week state department official said a special representative spent three days in Pyongyang preparing for the summit they said the agenda included advancing trump and chairman Kim Singapore summit commitments of complete denuclearization transforming US North Korea relations and building peace on the Korean peninsula trump has been keen for a second summit despite a lack of significant moves by North Korea to give up its nuclear weapons program he has stressed economic benefits to North Korea if it does so from alluded to a second meeting with Kim in his annual state of the union address on Tuesday he said much work remains to be done in the push for peace with North Korea but cited the hold in its nuclear testing and no new missile launches in fifteen months as proof of progress North Korea has complained the US has done little to reciprocate for it's freezing of nuclear and missile testing urging security guarantees and the lifting of US led sanctions the upcoming summit will take place during a busy week in Washington as former trump attorney Michael Kamen is scheduled to testify to the house intelligence committee during the same time as the summit
