hacienda health care has announced it is closing its Arizona facility where severely disabled patient was raped and recently gave birth company officials say the sixty bad intermediate care facility in Phoenix is quote simply not sustainable to continue the facility came under scrutiny in December when an incapacitated patient in her twenties went into labor caretaker say they had no idea the woman who is disabled by seizures during her early childhood was pregnant women if you just had a baby and you had no idea she was pregnant Natan Sutherland a nurse at the facility was arrested in January and charged with sexual assault after he was linked to the case through DNA evidence next court date will be our national pre trial conference Sutherland pleaded not guilty earlier this week and is being held in jail in lieu of five hundred thousand dollars bail police say the baby boy is doing well and is being cared for by members of his mother's family hacienda says it is working with state officials to find other facilities for their three dozen patients
