According to authorities, an offduty Dallas officer entered what she thought was her apartment. And once inside, shot and killed the man she found there.
>> She fired her weapon, striking the victim.>> Turns out, it was her neighbor. And it was his apartment. The victim, 26 year old Botham Shem Jean whose family is from St. Lucia.>> This is just insane that this would happen to someone so nice and kind.>> Lloyd Harvey was a neighbor who heard the shots that killed Jean.
>> It's been ringing in my ear all day.>> Still unclear is how the officer entered Jean's apartment. And unclear to Harvey is how she mistook his apartment for hers.>> Right in front of his house you have a red floor mat, it's a bright red floor mat.
How do you think that that's your apartment?>> As for the officer, her identity won't be revealed until she's officially charged.>> A blood sample was drawn to test the officer's level for drugs or alcohol.>> But neighbors are demanding justice.>> He wasn't doing anything wrong. He wasn't trying to do anything wrong.
