x people shot dead in just fifteen minutes. Authorities and Bakersfields, California, see the shooting spree begin around 5:30 Wednesday afternoon. They say the gunman went with his wife to a trucking company, where he shot and killed a man. He then turned the gun on his spouse, killing her as well.
A third man was shot dead as he tried to flee the area. The shooter then entered a nearby residence, where he shot and killed two more men. Kern County Sheriff, Donnie Youngblood, says the man then stole a car.>> He hijacked a vehicle with a woman and a child in it.
They were able to escape. He took that vehicle and drove to Edison Highway, where a deputy saw him.>> As the deputy was closing in, the man shot and killed himself. Police say the motive is still unclear. Although, Youngblood told reporters that such incidents across the US have become quote the new normal.
