t their arrests have ignited allegations that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's administration.
Is trying to intimidate its critics ahead of elections. Unusually, the raids took place simultaneously at the homes and offices of the activists across India. Police accused the five of making inflammatory speeches at a rally in Western India last year. Which led to violent clashes between the lowest in the Hindu caste hierarchy and right wing organizations.
The common threat amongst the group is that they're all outspoken advocates for free expression. Their arrests follow months of tensions.>>
