>> Police charged 48 year old Matthew Vincent Raymond with four counts of first degree murder Saturday in Friday's shooting that left four people dead in the small city of Fredericton in eastern Canada. The officers 43 year old Sarah May Burns and 45 year old Lawrence Robb Costello were killed after responding to a report of shots fired early Friday morning at an apartment complex, and then finding two victims on the ground.
Those victims include a 32 year old woman identified as Bobbie Lee Wright and a 42 year old man identified as Donald Adam Robichaud. Robichaud, who's the father of three, had recently begun a new relationship with Wright, according to Robichaud's cousin. Authorities are still searching for a possible motive.
The Fredericton shooting comes just three weeks after a gunman walked down a busy Toronto street killing two people and wounding 13 others before taking his own life. A spate of recent shootings has sparked a debate in Canada about a weapons ban in cities. Canada has strict gun laws, but a proliferation of weapons has led to an increase in gun related crimes in recent years.
