Banksy fans have been pouring into an exhibition of his work in Moscow in their droves. But the artist himself is not happy. Taking to his Instagram page, the British graffitist reacts to the exhibition saying quote, what the hell is that? He's unhappy that the gallery is charging visitors to see his work, something he says he's against.
The exhibition which marks the first time his art has been shown in Russia, charges up to $20 US for entry. That price hasn't put visitors off though. Over 250,000 are said to have seen it so far. Despite Banksy saying that he didn't approve the event, the show organizers are unrepentant.
They say that Banksy speaking out about the exhibition means he has indirectly shown his approval. The reclusive artist, well known for putting his own spin on existing works, did admit he probably wasn't the quote best person to complain about people putting up pictures without getting permission. The exhibition closes on September 1st and is expected to play host to 300,000 visitors before then.
