>> A Virginia jury found James Alex Fields, Junior guilty of first degree murder on Friday for driving his car into a crowd of counter protesters during a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia in August 2017 killing 32-year-old Heather Heyer, and injuring many others.
>> The jury swiftly reaching its verdict, deliberating for less than a day before convicting Fields. He was found guilty on nine other charges. All charges stemmed from the deadly confrontation that occurred after police had declared an unlawful assembly and cleared a park of white nationalists gathered for the Unite the Right rally.
The violence sparked a national outcry, as did President Trump's response just days later.>> I think there's blame on both sides. And I have no doubt about it, and you don't have any doubt about it either.>> 21-year-old Fields had previously pled not guilty of murder in federal hate crime charges.
He could face up to life in prison for the first degree murder charge. He'll be sentenced at a later date.
