Russia also said it plans to deploy more of its advanced missiles to Crimea. According to Russian news agencies, a new battalion of S-400 missiles will be delivered to Crimea. And become operational by the end of the year. Crimea already hosts three battalions of the anti-aircraft missile systems with a range of up to 400 kilometers.
Allowing Russia to control large swathes of the sky above the Black Sea. It's a move that's likely to have been long planned. Russia annexed Crimea from Ukraine in 2014. A Crimean judge has ordered several of the captured Ukrainian sailors to remain in detention for two months, pending a possible trial.
They appeared on Russian state TV, Tuesday, admitting to a pre-planned provocation. Kiev denounced them as forced confessions. Ukraine introduced martial law in parts of the country after Sunday's incident over fears of a possible Russian invasion.>>
