Roman Catholic Church in Germany has officially released its report on the sexual abuse of thousands of miners there by clergy after it was initially leaked by that country's press with an apology and an admittance of salon I'm too long in the church we have looks away too long the night covered up and didn't want it to be true , the report spends over seven decades ending in two thousand fourteen in all three thousand six hundred and seventy seven victims are documented abused by almost seventeen hundred clergy the actual numbers may be even higher though partly due to the fact that victims often stay silent and how much time has passed the findings were first leaked biters Spiegel earlier this month although the newspaper reported at the time that it expected the church to go public with it before October Germany is only one part of the abuse crisis that has once again and looked at the Vatican spanning multiple countries I was born in Germany press conference pope Francis said that these incidents fed into the religion difficult to connect with younger generations some conservative clergy have accused the pope himself of failing to act strongly enough to stop it
