a big thumbs down to china listed stocks by global investors new york based m. a. c. i. which calls the shots for many fund managers on where to put their money including some of the biggest for one key pulls said it would keep shares listed in china out of its key emerging markets index for now reuters correspondent pete sweeney in shanghai would've been a nice feather in china's cap on this government very much likes collecting these feathers of foreign approval now we have kind of rejection , i'm and that rejection is coming from major institutional investors overseas than this this isn't just like hedge funds are pension plans his retirement plans and they're saying wait a second , we don't think china's ready we don't think the capital town is open enough we don't think we're necessarily to be treated fairly you know and all of that is is is a mark of caution you know from people are moving a lot of money around , this is the second time m. s. t. i. has snubbed china listed stocks the blue chip index here drop to percent as the markets open it's risen sharply recently partly on hopes a thumbs up decision by m. s. c. i would bring in an estimated four hundred billion u. s. dollars of funds overtime but the decision to give some breathing space to fund managers who have voiced concern about buying into a red hot market , has more than doubled in the past year , still when china stock markets open up further to the outside world things could change so it pays to stay tuned to the m. s. c. i. policy wonks if betting your retirement savings alongside these mom and pop stuff punters isn't your thing
