Now Musk is teasing investors with major company news, and shareholders are happy to play along. Reuters correspondent Noel Randewich in San Francisco.

>> Tesla is surging again today. The reason for today's big jump is Elon Musk taking to Twitter to talk up his plans to launch commercial truck and eventually a pickup truck. In the past, Tesla shares have been sensitive to things that Elon Musk says on Twitter. So this is not the first time we've seen the stock moving based on tweets.
