>> On Sundays for those in this->> The death of an inmate inside a Wisconsin jail could lead to criminal charges. A jury on Monday finding probable cause that seven staffers at the Milwaukee County Jail committed a crime. After a 38 year old mentally ill prisoner was found dead of dehydration.
Water to his cell had been shut off for days. The lockup is run by Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke, a darling of the conservative media, who spoke at the Republican National Convention. Reports last week suggested US President Donald Trump is considering Clark as a possible Director of Homeland Security.
Clark was not a target of the Grand Jury. Milwaukee County's District Attorney presented evidence he said showed an ongoing practice of shutting off water to inmates. Four prisoners died in the jail last year, but only this one has led to possible criminal charges. The District Attorney is not bound by the jury's recommendation, and could charge more people, or fewer.
