But there does appear to be signs of a crackdown. Police in the capital of Jakarta detained more than 140 men in a raid on a gay club on Sunday on suspicion of violating pornography laws.>> That night club raid hit was described by authorities as a sex party, with 10 men facing up to 15 years in prison, five others are still being investigated.

The night club suspects were also said to be stripped-searched, photographed and marched naked into custody. And at that caning trial over a thousand watching.>> Apart from the brutality of it, the punishment seems aimed at humiliating those who have been convicted. Some in the crowd heckled and shouted insults.
