>> Trump advisors on Tuesday postponing its final meeting on whether to exit the Paris Climate Agreement. The last step in a decision that would have broad implication for the global accord meant to combat climate change by cutting back on using fossil fuels. Key advisors to the President were set to convene at the White House to resolve an internal debate over pulling out of the deal which was signed during the Obama Administration.
The White House did not say when the meeting would be rescheduled. Ahead of Tuesday originally planned meeting several nations at the UN Climate Change Conference in Germany urging President Trump to remain in the pact.>> The global warming and the
lot of it's a hoax.>> But the President repeatedly threatened to pull out of the deal on the campaign trail.
>> We're going to cancel The Paris Climate Agreement.>> He's championed the high-emitting US coal industry and has broadly opposed regulation. Powerful conservatives in Washington and groups with ties to fossil fuels also pressuring Trump to keep his promise. US legal experts argue that the wording of the pact makes it impossible for Trump to stay in the agreement and at the same time carry out his pledge to bring back coal.
Trump faces a strong diplomatic backlash for he to walk away from the deal. And experts warned withdrawing the US will give a global leadership on environmental and renewable energy issues to China.
