>> A good samaritan act gone horribly wrong. Two men were killed by a knife attack on a Portland train Friday after coming to the aid of two women who appeared to be Muslim. Police identified the assailant as 35-year-old Jeremy Joseph Christian, a convicted felon, local media describe him as a known white supremacist.

He was captured and arrested after fleeing the train. Passengers say Christian went on a tirade that was nothing short of hate speech. Yelling ethnic and religious slurs toward the two women, one of which was wearing a hijab. Things took a deadly turn when fellow passengers tried to intervene.

>> Friday evening marked the beginning of the holy Muslim month of Ramadan. In a tweet, the Council on American-Islamic Relations calling on President Trump to denounce bigotry toward Muslims. Putting the blame on the president for his focus on militant Islamist groups and his strong anti-immigrant rhetoric, which they say contributed to a 50% spike in hate crimes against Muslims last year.
