These pear-shaped diamond earrings have been sold at auction for a record-breaking total of $57,425,000. Two lots at the Sotheby's Magnificent Jewels and Noble Jewels sale in Geneva.

They were being sold separately due to their extreme rarity but on Tuesday night they were bought by the same private buyer. Sotheby's said the two stones were by far the most important pair of earrings ever offered at auction.
