>> Air travelers may soon have to check that laptop or iPad because as a carry on, it won't fly. A US official telling Reuters that American authorities may soon ban electronic devices bigger than a cellphone on US bound flights from foreign airlines from about a dozen countries. Some from the Middle East including Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
The electronics ban is expected to be announced as early as Monday night by the Department of Homeland Security and is in response to an unspecified terrorism threat the government learned of several weeks ago. But no American carriers are impacted by the ban. Reports of the ban begun circulating on Monday, in Royal Jordanian Airlines tweeted about it, saying cellphones and medical devices needed during the flight would be allowed on board.
The airline later deleted the tweet.
