>> NFL owners on Monday voting 31-1 to move the Raiders from Oakland to Las Vegas. City, county and state officials have pledged $750 million in public funding toward a new stadium at the casino capital. Since the 1970 NFL-AFL merger, the Raiders have gone on to win three Superbowls, the last in 1983.
They last went to the championship in 2002. In recent years the team has struggled mightily, going 14 years without making the playoffs, finally making it to the AFC wildcard game last season. The Raiders, since 1995, have shared Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum with the Major League Baseball's, Oakland Athletics. But were in talks for sometime to build a new stadium with the San Diego Chargers in Carson, California, which ultimately fell through.
The Raiders franchise is set to open in Sin City in 2020.
