Sparking concerns that Manafort had encouraged the Russians to help with the campaign. It's unclear if Trump was picked up on this surveillance. The FBI was not eavesdropping during a June 2016 meeting. When Donald Trump Jr., Manafort and top White House adviser Jared Kushner, met with a Russian lawyer.

Searching for any proof that Manafort had set up secret offshore bank accounts. The Times reporting that the feds also warned Manafort that they planned to indict him.

Manafort's attorney, and the White House did not immediately respond to Reuters' request for comment on the stories. Trump has denied any collusion with Russia. Moscow has also denied any interference in the US election.
