Much of which will never be fully understood.
He meticulously planned on the worst domestic attack in United States history.
Paddock opened fire on a country music festival on the Las Vegas strip on Sunday night. He'd assembled an arsenal of weapons and ammunition in his 32nd floor suite at the Mandalay Bay hotel casino. Police recovered more than 50 firearms from three locations, including the hotel and two residences.

The 62-year-old returns to America Tuesday night. The FBI met her at the airport. Agents asked her about Paddock's guns, a $100,000 wire transfer to a Philippine bank that appeared to be meant for her.
And whether she saw any changes in his behavior before she left the US. On Wednesday, her lawyer read this statement to the press. He never said anything to me or took any action that I was aware of that I understood in any way to be a warning that something horrible like this was going to happen.
>> As of Thursday, Danley has not been charged with a crime. Paddock had no criminal history, no known history of mental illness, nor any apparent interest in extremist ideology. Law enforcement saying they'd seen signs Paddock planned to escape, but police declined to elaborate.
