>> Tropical Storm Nate pummeling Costa Rica with heavy rain. It's killed at least 22 people in Central America. The storm triggering mudslides, flooding, and widespread power outages. Forecasters say Nate is expected to strengthen as it heads for the US Gulf Coast, possibly hitting New Orleans as a category one hurricane on Sunday.
The governor in Louisiana has already declared a state of emergency. People there stocking up on food, coastal areas have been ordered to evacuate and National Guard troops are mobilizing.>> But right now to the citizens of New Orleans, there is no reason to panic, but there is reason to prepare.
>> Officials say the storm could impact residents from Florida to Texas and hit oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico. As a precaution major offshore oil producers including Chevron and Exxon have stopped production.
