>> Police raid 40 homes and more than 150 garages across Belgium over night. Officers questioning 40 people and arresting 12 suspected of planning new attacks, prosecutors said on Saturday. But Belgian TV station said police believe an attack in Brussels was planned this weekend. Europe is on high alert.
Islamist militants killed 32 in Brussels in March and 130 people last November in neighboring France. But the Euro 2016 football championships are attracting huge crowds. Investigators have found links between the Brussels and Paris attackers, some of whom were based in Belgium. This week, security officials said Islamic state fighters from Syria were heading to Europe to carry out attacks.
