>> Amateur video appearing to show a man being arrested after allegedly attacking a UK member of Parliament on Thursday. Labor party member Jo Cox was shot and stabbed as she prepared to meet supporters in her constituency in Northern England. The 41 year old was declared dead shortly afterwards.
West Yorkshire police say a 52-year-old man has been arrested by armed officers. An eye witness said he saw the shooting take place.>> I saw him going like that, then the thing went. I saw him pulling the gun out.>> Yeah.>> And then he went like that with it and fired one shot.
>> It's a killing that's horrified local residents.>> We're like everybody else in the community. We share a sense of shock that this might happen. Especially to someone who's worked so hard to care and help the people of this area.>> Prime Minister David Cameron also sending his condolences.
>> This is absolutely tragic and dreadful news. And my thoughts are with Jo's husband Brendon and the two children and the wider family. We've lost a great star. She was a MP, great campaigning MP with huge compassion, with a big heart, and people are going to be very, very sad at what has happened.
Dreadful, dreadful news. It's right that we're suspending campaigning activity in this referendum and everyone's thoughts will be with Jo's family and with her constituents. Cox, who was married with two children, had worked on US President Obama's 2008 election campaign. The motive behind her killing is unknown.
