>> The largest Meth bust ever in New Zealand. Police say they've seized about 450 kilos of Meth worth $300 million. That's larger than the total amount of Meth seized in the country for the whole of last year. As they tell it, it mostly came down to luck. Officers first heard reports of two men offering large amounts of cash to locals North of Auckland for help launching boats off the beach.
Police had discovered a suspicious abandoned boat when the truck they were looking for drove by starting a chase that ended in the arrest of two men. A police men on his way home arrested the third suspect driving a Camper Van filled with mat and ziplock bags. Officers say the bags were coated with salt residue, which may indicate they've been picked up at sea.
Police say they're still trying to figure out where the drugs were made, and where they were going to be shipped.
