>> A building in central Istanbul ripped apart by a huge explosion. Onlookers gathering, but going little further than what were once the windows. The target in the Turkish city was not apparently this building, but a bus outside packed full of police officers. The twisted remains of a car bomb attack in a district near a major tourist site.
Officials say at least 11 people are dead, 7 of them police officers. Another 36 people wounded, some of them critical. Media reports say the car packed with explosives was detonated by remote control as the police bus drove fast. There's been no immediate claim of responsibility. The Kurdish militants Islamic State and radical leftists have all staged recent attacks and Turkey leaving the country on high alert.
